Hello! I'm a music teacher from Portugal and I began my teaching career at the age of 17. I have a degree in Music Education and Piano. Throughout my career I have always sought for innovation and creativity, having participated in several didactics and musical pedagogy courses, both in Portugal and abroad, which eventually led me to register on eTwinning (a community for schools in Europe) in 2010. Since then, my students and I have developed numerous projects in partnership with other European classrooms and have participated in numerous eTwinning conferences in Portugal and in other European countries. These projects have won 7 National Prizes and 1 European Prize. Among them - "A Voyage of Sea Discovery", "BLASTIC" and "Litter@sea" - were related to the ocean and the plastic pollution emergency. Between 2003 and 2016 I was the coordinator and editor-in-chief of my school's newspaper - "Barquinho de Papel" ("Paper Boat"). Since the creation of "The Skype Plastic Cleanup Brigade" I have been able to connect with hundreds of classrooms all over the world. I am the creator and founder of the Facebook group "BLASTIC & Litter@sea", "Litter@sea" on Twitter and the website “Litter@sea”. I have been a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEExpert) since 2016 and a Global Learning Mentor since 2017. I am married and a proud mother of two.
